Essential Responsibilities: | The Position: GE’s Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) accelerates development of entry-level talent and produces leaders capable of meeting the challenges facing the Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and EHS functions at GE. OMLP – EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) is a specific track of OMLP that produces leaders capable of meeting the challenges facing the Environment, Health, & Safety function at GE. OMLP EHS Track is a 2 year program consisting of 3 eight month rotations that allow members to build leadership and functional skills through challenging rotational assignments and world-class training. Typical rotations include one or more of the following: Manufacturing Plant (providing EHS support to site operations); Services (providing EHS oversight of GE operations for work at GE Customer sites), and Operations (an operations or supervisor role with a strong tie to EHS). Program members are also involved in GE's strategic initiatives-including GE's drive for LEAN Six Sigma and Fastworks. As this is a rotational program, candidates will be expected to be geographically mobile, throughout Canada. Potential locations for rotations include (but are not limited to): ON – Toronto, Markham, Peterborough, Guelph and/or AB – Edmonton, Calgary. Program Content: OMLP EHS track members will have the opportunity to be exposed to environment, health, and safety technical and business aspects within a business through structured course work and practical application. Coursework includes: Leadership, Supply Chain Management, LEAN Manufacturing Operations, Environment, Health and Safety, Project Management, Negotiation Skills and Business Acumen. GE's focus on process integration, from design through manufacturing, has been critical to meeting our customers' expectations. OMLP EHS Track is designed to successfully integrate manufacturing with other key processes in GE. The experience gained during the rotational assignments positions OMLP EHS Track members for accelerated career growth. Qualifications/Requirements: | Do you qualify? We are seeking? - Excellent academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA overall, on a 4.0 scale) in a minimum 4-year technical degree in Engineering (Environmental preferred), Environmental, Health & Safety, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene/Safety, Public Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Health Sciences, Environmental Studies, or Occupational Health, or equivalent; - Legal authorization to work in Canada; - Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative; - Strong communication and interpersonal skills; - Flexible, adaptable, and geographically mobile. Candidates are to submit a cover letter and resume. It is a mandatory requirement that you identify your school, cumulative GPA, and anticipated graduation date as part of the application process. |
