Role Summary/Purpose: The Business Program Manager will be responsible for the Software Development Leadership Program (SDLP), including selection, assessment, development, retention and graduation processes to develop a pipeline of digital industrial-minded leaders who are prepared for the challenges of a leadership career at GE Digital.
Essential Responsibilities: Works directly with the Digital and Corporate software and IT program leadership teams as well as the business leadership team to deliver overall program experience. This includes the continuous development and implementation of the program, selection, assessment, development, retention and off program placement processes and plans for the program. The program leader is also the primary liaison with the key business and significant corporate stakeholders.

  • Lead business forecasting & recruiting strategy for the Digital SDLP.
  • Lead business interview & selection.
  • Lead assignment matching & quality, orchestrate projects and optimize the development of program members through the right mix and types of skills.
  • Identify Assignment Leaders and their training/coaching.
  • Work closely with Learning Leaders to curate program curriculum.
  • Serve as mentor/coach/advocate to program members.
  • Ensure program standards are met.
  • Collaborate across functions and regions to deliver a consistent/quality program.
  • Collaborate with Business VP Champion to develop vision and strategy for program.
  • Develop quarterly operating rhythm to provide continuous feedback to program participants.
  • Engage functional business leads and develop platform for program participants to engage with their business functional leads.
  • Define and uphold Program standards within the business.

  • Lead evaluation process, salary reviews.
  • Lead placement process to facilitate placement of program members into appropriate off program roles.
  • Own business program cost center budgeting, SII, and cost monitoring throughout the year.
  • Proactively communicate with all key stakeholders (assessors, Business Program Managers, Assignment Managers, Coaches and Participants) on all aspects of the program. Partner with communications to manage PR for the program.
  • Take active role interacting with program participants to keep pulse of the program and provide guidance and mentoring.
  • Ownership for all selection, assessment and feedback process & tools for program and development of multi-generational plan to continuously improve
  • Act as a liaison to and maintain strong working relationships with the GE Talent Development community and leadership program management channels
Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in Business Program Management, Software Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in selecting and developing talent; strong assessment, coaching and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to develop and execute strategic plans; strong execution skill-set.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization?high level of interpersonal, communications, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong project management capability including facilitation, complex problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel (less than 20% of the time) to conferences, recruiting events, training, including international travel
