Role Summary/Purpose: EHS Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs and processes within a specified Zone. In this role, you will utilize experience /expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term EHS goals for the Manufacturing, Projects and Service Sites of Water & Process Technology business. In this role you will partner with OneEHS Global Operations Regional team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and be accountable for strategic EHS program development and implementation to ensure sustainment of site EHS Programs and overall EHS excellence.

- Assist in ensuring compliance with legal requirements, implementing GE EHS programs, meeting business expectations and ensuring continuous improvement;

- Work across regions to lead EHS programs, including compliance with pertinent regulatory requirements and applicable GE requirements. Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast site impacts.

- Engage and influence regional leadership support for EH&S and coach individuals to enable them to successfully discharge their leadership responsibilities for EHS and maintain specified goals

- Ensure all necessary policies, procedures and practices are in place to assure compliance with regulatory and GE requirements - primary liaison with regulatory agencies for all EHS issues.

- Manage key performance Indicators (KPI) for the region and drive necessary efforts to achieve them

- Assure action plans with GE’s Environmental Health & Safety Framework

- Lead incident investigations and drive closure of effective corrective/preventive actions

- Analyze trends and performance, provide routine feedback, and drive actions to improve performance

- Assure 100% completion of training, audits and other compliance aspects throughout the organization

- Provide technical and compliance leadership to Manufacturing, Field management and customers; assist in responding to significant incidents and government requests/notices

- Oversee compliance assurance program, perform site audits, and lead efforts with management team to implement corrective actions

- To follow up with site teams (FSR/Area manager) to ensure the completion of monthly housekeeping inspections and follow up on findings closure.

- To coordinate and conduct EHS induction and training at site based on training needs identified.

- To review customer requirements on site and ensure adherence to PPE and other safety requirements.

- To lead efforts in implementing Hazard Reduction and Injury Prevention Projects.

- Lead efforts to operationalize EHS at business service sites

- Maintain EHS expertise to provide technical and regulatory support to Operations team

- Engage / coach operations leaders enabling them to successfully discharge their EHS leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or Environmental Science

- 8 + Years of manufacturing and / or service EHS Experience

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

- Self Starter & Good Team player

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Six Sigma training (desired)

- Demonstrated leadership skills to make change and help create positive safety culture

- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks on tight time schedules
